L-IFT was founded by Anne Marie van Swinderen in January 2015, after she had successfully implemented financial diaries projects in several countries. She had a vision of creating an organization that leverages the power of financial diaries to generate insights and enables other organizations to benefit the communities the data is gathered from while empowering the youth of these communities.

Since then, L-IFT has grown from 5 to more than 100 staff members from all around the world, of which more than 60 are women. We have a diverse and talented team of consultants, researchers, data analysts, and project managers, who work collaboratively and creatively to deliver high-quality results for our clients. We have a supportive and flexible work environment that allows our consultants to unleash their entrepreneurship and innovation without having to deal with the administrative hassles of setting up their own companies and systems.

L-IFT’s headquarters is in The Netherlands, but we operate in multiple countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. We have a strong network of partners and collaborators who share our vision and values. We are always looking for new opportunities and challenges to expand our reach and impact.

Our Mottos

Key Concepts

L-IFT is a research organization committed to empowering communities through data. At L-IFT, we believe in providing value for money and ensuring that those who contribute to our process directly benefit from it. We strive to make open-source data accessible to all as a utility service, continuously building evidence to support our work.

Our mission is to help communities learn from data and to train youth to be customer-centric. By building skills for serving low-income people, we provide young, local individuals with valuable work experience. Our goal is to help respondents develop self-awareness and confidence, enabling them to take control of their own futures.

Join us on our journey to create a better, more informed world. Together, we can make a difference.
