Amina Nakaima

Field Researcher

Nakaima Amina joined L-IFT in March 2020 and specialized in the FINBIT project, later on, she joined the RISE project and later transitioned to the Solar Adoption RCT in April 2022. She possesses a Diploma in Business administration. She’s motivated by Achieving goals, seeing progress, and making a tangible impact. In addition, working in a team provides a sense of collaboration, support, and a shared sense of purpose.

Anna Juan

Field researcher

Anna Juan works as a Field Researcher in the Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement in Uganda. She graduated from Panyadoli Self-Help Senior Secondary School (PSHSSS) with an Uganda National Certificate of Education (UCE). She joined L-IFT in June 2022, at the completion of the RISE Project, and was afterward recruited as a Field Researcher in the Solar Adoption RCT. Aryemo Esther Ambrose

Field researcher

Esther is a Field Researcher based in the Kiryandongo refugee camp in Uganda. She holds a Diploma in Business Administration (DBA) from Makerere University Business School (MUBS).  She Joined L-IFT in October 2022 at the baseline phase of the Solar Adoption Randomised Control Trial. Balinda Vincent

Field Researcher

Balinda Vincent is based in the Kiryandongo host community in Kiryandongo District Uganda. He holds a Diploma in Education Secondary (DES) from Kyambogo University. He joined L-IFT in June 2022 at the tail end of the RISE Project and October 2022 transitioned to the SAR Project. Bingo Apollo Valantino (RIP)

Field researcher

Since 2019, he played a vital role in the success of L-IFTs projects. With unwavering dedication, he ventured into working with L-IFT as a field researcher on the Cornershop/Diaries Project. He later transitioned to the Solar Adoption RCT in April 2022. His commitment knew no bounds, and he always went above and beyond to ensure accuracy and integrity during data collection.

David Kasongo Lubende

Field researcher

JDavid is a Field Researcher based in Nakivale Refuge settlement in Uganda. He holds a BA in English from ISP- Bukavu (Teacher’s Training Institute) In DRC, Diploma in Computer Science from ACP UK. He joined L- IFT in September 2019. Rachael Dusio

Field Supervisor

Rachael started working with L-IFT in 2019 on the RISE Project in the Kiryandongo refugee settlement. She has a Bachelor of Education from Makerere University. She taught at several secondary schools before joining L-IFT, including Entebbe Parents School, Kauda Teacher Training College in South Sudan, National Democratic Institute in Juba, South Sudan, and Yei Teacher Training College in South Sudan. Elizabeth Chirimwami

Field Intern

Elizabeth Chirimwami works as a Field Intern for L-IFT in the Nakivale Refugee Settlement in Uganda as part of the Solar Adoption Randomised Control Trial project. He is certified in Entrepreneurship, Business, and Leadership, as well as Computer Skills. She previously worked as a Treasurer, Women’s Activities Coordinator, and mentor at Best Future Center in Nakivale. Meeting new people and sharing personal experiences motivates her.

Ikirezi Ange

Field Researcher

In October 2022, Ange joined the L-IFT group as a field researcher for the Solar Adoption RCT in Nakivale. From the Nakivale Settlement Camp in Uganda, he received the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE). Prior to joining L-IFT, she worked as a field researcher for many NGOs, including Alight, Oxfam, and Kenwill, as well as an interpreter for the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) in the settlement.

Karhikalembu Murhabazi Fiston

Field Intern

Born in South Kivu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Karhikalembu Murhabazi holds a degree in rural development from the Rural Development Institute. He served as the deputy headteacher at Vision Nursery and Primary School, the headteacher at Flames Nursery and Primary School, a teacher at the Best Future Center, and the general secretary at Muzenende Foundation in the Ugandan refugee settlement of Nakivale. He is a field intern for the Solar Adoption RCT.

 

Khamis John

Field Researcher

Khamis works as a Field Researcher in the Kiryandongo refugee settlement. He has a Diploma in Public Health and a Nursing Certificate. Before joining L-IFT in 2022, he worked as a community social worker for Cten and handled data collecting and validation for Save The Children. In addition, he was assigned to Naguru Hospital, Jinja Referral Hospital, and Kayunga Referral Hospital for clinical placements, and he is encouraged by fresh experiences and a great team response.

 

Mibaraka Kamana Bishendwa

Field Supervisor

Mibaraka works as a Field Supervisor in the Ugandan refugee camp of Nakivale. His undergraduate degree is in rural development. He joined L-IFT in 2019 to work on the RISE/Diaries Research as a field researcher. He had previously worked as a secondary school teacher and deputy headmaster. Nelly Kamikazi

Field researcher

Kamikazi Nelly is a field researcher stationed in Uganda’s Nakivale Refugee Camp. She is from Burundi and holds a Master of Marketing degree. In 2019, she joined L-IFT’s Financial Diaries Project. She transferred to the Solar Adoption RCT in Nakivale in April 2022. She previously worked as a Manager for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for three years and as a private order provider in Burundi for four years. She is driven by the desire to assist others in reaching their full potential.

 

 

Olivier Asanti Masarika

Field Researcher

Olivier Asanti Masirika is a dedicated Field Researcher stationed in Uganda’s Nakivale refugee camp. He has a Diploma in Agronomy, Animal Production (Zootechnies) from Universite Évangélique en Afrique, as well as various other trainings from the International Labour Organization (ILO), including start and enhance your business.     Ombeni Meshake

    Field researcher

    Ombeni is a Field researcher based in Nakivale refugee settlement in Uganda. He holds an Uganda Certificate of Education (UACE) obtained in 2020 and studied (History, Economics, Kiswahili, and Sub-mathematics) at Nakivale Secondary School. He joined L-IFT in October 2022 at the baseline phase of the Solar Adoption Randomized Control Trial. In October 2019-2020, he completed a one-year training course in research, project monitoring, media, and communication and advocacy under UNICEF’s Youth Participatory Design and Monitoring project (YPDM) and announced to be a field researcher of  Fhi360 in the same project (YPDM). In October 2021, Ombeni completed a training of trainers (ToT) program under UGAFODE Microfinance Limited (MDI) in partnership with the Association of Microfinance Institution of Uganda (AMFIU), and in Feb-June 2022, he became a field researcher of the Danish Refugee Council (DRC). Later in  July-August 2022, he collected field data with OXFAM-UGANDA in the field of sanitation and finally in October 2022, he joined L-IFT. He is motivated by continuous growth and ever motivated by being modest, learning new things, and coming up with creative ideas to solve work-related challenges.

       

    Samuel Bona James

    Field Researcher

    Samuel joined L-IFT as a Field Researcher in October 2022, during the baseline phase of the Solar Adoption Randomised Control Trial, with a Diploma in Social Work and Social Administration (DSWSA) from Makerere Institute for Social Development (MISD).       Thomas Mihigo

      Field researcher

      Thomas Mihigo is a field researcher who lives in the Nakivale Settlement in Uganda. He has a senior six Certificate in Education from the Institut De L’Amitie In Nyarugusu Camp in Tanzania. In 2022, he joined L-IFT. Prior to joining L-IFT, he worked as a primary school teacher in Tanzania, as well as at Kashojwa Primary School in Nakivale Settlement. In addition, he worked as a data collector for WFP and UNHCR services in the community, as well as a community worker and translator for various NGOs within the settlement.       Trinitas Niberuta

      Field Researcher

      Trinitas works as a Field Researcher in the Nakivale refugee camp in Uganda. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University Sagesse d’Afrique in Burundi. She joined L-IFT in August 2019 and has participated in a number of research initiatives in the Nakivale Refugee Settlement Camp, including the Solar Adoption Randomised Control Trial, which runs from April 2022 to June 2023.         Wajum John Badeng

        Field Researcher

        Wajum John is a fervent supporter of social advancement and peaceful coexistence. Wajum worked as a Field Officer with GiveDirectly Uganda at the Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement before joining L-IFT. In this capacity, he worked alongside the enrollment team to enroll refugees for unrestricted cash transfers. Wajum’s main priorities are community empowerment and advocacy.           Wanda Godfrey Owor

          Field Researcher

          Wanda began working for L-IFT as a Field Researcher in May 2023. He has a Diploma in Agriculture from Uganda’s Bukalasa Agricultural College. Prior to joining L-IFT, he served as a Field Supervisor in charge of livelihoods at Bugambe Tea Estate in Hoima District, and as a Trainer of Trainers (TOT) at Kiryandongo District Local Government under the Multi-Sectoral Food Security and Nutrition Project.           Zabulon Byiringiro

          Field Researcher

          Zabulon began working for L-IFT in 2019 as a field researcher for the RISE Project. He has an Advanced Level Certificate in Sciences and has studied Information Technology (IT) at a Postsecondary Institution. Zabulon worked as a community volunteer in Nakivale as an interpreter with the Office of the Prime Minister in 2013.
