This is a cattle market in Asella, where one of my respondents by ID no. 296 sells the cattle he purchased from another nearby market called Segure, the second-largest cattle market in the Oromia region. He purchases the cattle before the holiday season and fattens them so that he can sell them for a better price. People in our locality mostly purchase cattle for slaughtering during the holidays. Christmas, epiphany, and the beginning of the main fasting season are good times for him to generate revenue and profit. The above images illustrate the market.
